CALL FOR PAPERS KEY DATES SUBMISSION SYSTEM

Call for papers

The Italian Association for Population Studies (SIS-AISP) cordially invites submissions to the 16th edition of Giornate di Studio sulla Popolazione – Popdays 2027, to be held in Trento from 9 to 11 June 2027.

We are pleased to announce the partecipation of UNFPA – United Nations Population Fund in the conference.

Submissions should be made to one of the conference themes (conveners in brackets):

  1. Ageing and intergenerational relations [Cecilia Tomassini]
  2. Economy, human capital, and labour market [Dalit Contini]
  3. Environment and sustainability [Raya Muttarak]
  4. Data and methods [Arjuna Tuzzi]
  5. Families and households [Raffaele Guetto]
  6. Fertility [Cinzia Castagnaro]
  7. Health, morbidity and wellbeing [Gaia Bertarelli]
  8. Historical demography [Francesco Scalone]
  9. Internal migration, depopulation and inner areas [Roberto Impicciatore]
  10. International migrations and migrant populations [Manuela Stranges]
  11. Life courses [Daniele Vignoli]
  12. Mortality and Longevity [Virginia Zarulli]
  13. Policy issues [Anna Paterno]
  14. Posters [Elisa Brini]

Authors are asked to provide (in English):

  • a short abstract (max 200 words);
  • three to five keywords;
  • an extended abstract (2-4 pages) OR the full paper;
  • full names, affiliations and e-mail addresses of all co-authors.

The conference will be held in English. At most 1 submission as presenting author is allowed.

Contributions must be submitted in PDF format through the submission system.

Submission deadline: 9 October 2026.

Key dates

  • 9 October 2026: submission deadline
  • 18 December 2026: Authors will be notified about the acceptance of their submission
  • 20 February 2027: Deadline for the early bird registration. All presenters must register by this date, otherwise the paper will be removed from the program, and the corresponding session rearranged
  • 30 April 2027: Deadline for the regular registration

Please check that your name, affiliation, and email address, as well as those of your co-author(s) are correct.

If no presenter is explicitly selected, the online system will automatically designate the first author in the list as the presenter. Please, ensure that the correct presenter is assigned. At most 1 submission as presenting author is allowed.
