Welcome to the condensed English version of the website  Italian Association for Population Studies, Demography Section of the Italian Statistical Society (SIS).

Demographic changes have a profound impact on the entire structure of society, influencing family dynamics, intergenerational relationships, socio-economic inequalities, internal mobility, and global migrations. For Italy, population studies are therefore central to the cultural, scientific, and policy debate at both the national and local levels.

AISP promotes the study and discussion of demographic and social issues through a transdisciplinary approach. It publishes the Population Report every two years and organizes Population Days (PopDays). AISP has over 300 members and is open to exchanges and collaborations at the international level.

AISP operates in close synergy with the Italian Statistical Society.

The international journal GENUS – Journal of Population Sciences is published under the auspices of AISP.

The AISP has a Scientific Council whose members are elected every two years.

The current scientific Council is composed by: Daniele Vignoli (President), Anna Paterno (Vice President), Manuela Stranges (Secretary), Annalisa Busetta, Dalit Contini, Giancarlo Ragazini and Agnese Vitali (members).
